The Story Behind Coconut Village: Exceptional Customer Service and BK2 Products
Phiona Durrant was raised by her grandparents in the beautiful, vibrant landscape of Jamaica. Her grandparents were farmers, and from them, she gained invaluable skills in entrepreneurship and the art of treating people well. They instilled in her the discipline and commitment to hard work that would shape her future.
Phiona’s grandmother was a beacon of simplicity and creativity, making things happen with the resources at hand. She was all about natural, quality products, and her use of ingredients like lemon, herbs, coconut oil, and sugar at home was symbolic. “We have all we need right here,” she would say, emphasizing the significance of these humble yet powerful ingredients.
By the age of eight, Phiona was already managing her grandparents’ small shop, traveling hours on foot to meet the supply truck and restock the shelves. This early exposure to the world of business and customer service laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors.
At 18, Phiona moved to Canada, and it wasn’t long before she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey. In 2019, she founded Coconut Village, a spa that quickly became known for its exceptional customer service and unique, natural products. Inspired by her grandmother’s resourcefulness and dedication to quality, Phiona launched the BK2 product line, featuring a face-to-feet sugar scrub that embodies the essence of her Jamaican heritage.
Coconut Village Spa, with its serene ambiance and personalized services, has become a sanctuary for those seeking holistic wellness and relaxation. The BK2 products, crafted with natural ingredients like, coconut oil, and sugar, offer clients a luxurious and effective skincare experience. Phiona’s dedication to treating people well and her commitment to quality shine through in every aspect of her business.
Phiona’s journey from managing a small shop in Jamaica to running a successful spa in Canada is a testament to the power of hard work, creativity, and the importance of staying true to one’s roots. Coconut Village and the BK2 product line are not just businesses; they are a celebration of Phiona’s heritage and a reflection of her unwavering dedication to excellence.
Phiona’s children, Jayden (12) and AJ (22), are also actively involved in the business. They help with various aspects, such as packing, labeling, and delivering products, making it a true family endeavor. This involvement not only teaches them valuable life skills but also instills the same values of hard work and dedication that Phiona learned from her grandparents.
Giving back to the community is a core value that Phiona holds dear, a principle passed down from her grandparents. Coconut Village regularly participates in local events, supports community initiatives, and offers free wellness workshops, embodying the spirit of giving and community support.
Phiona’s story and the success of Coconut Village are a testament to the power of family, tradition, and the importance of nurturing both personal and community well-being.
